What Ford publishes
According to Ford’s warranty page
- every new Ford comes with five years of unlimited kilometre warranty cover
- cars with a warranty start date on or after 1 September 2026, which for most owners is the delivery date, can get two more years, taking cover to seven years with unlimited kilometres
- to keep the extra years, the car has to be serviced on schedule and only at Ford dealers, through years six and seven as well
- the warranty covers any part that needs repair or replacement because of a manufacturing defect, done free by any Ford Authorised Dealer, regardless of a change of ownership
Ford says warranty exclusions and conditions apply, and it answers questions about warranty timing on 13 FORD, which is 13 36 73.
Does Ford have a refund policy?
Not one we could find. Ford’s published material covers the warranty, not taking cars back for a change of mind. For a car with a fault, whether a refund may be on the table is a question for the consumer guarantees, covered in can I get a refund on a car.
What Ford says about the consumer guarantees
Ford’s site carries the standard statement that its goods come with guarantees that can’t be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. Those guarantees sit alongside the warranty and can apply after it ends, as out of warranty, still have rights? explains.
Raising a concern with Ford
We didn’t find a current published customer charter for Ford. Ford points owners to their dealer first, and it has a contact page and the 13 FORD line for questions that need to go to Ford directly.
Where brokencar fits
If you bought your Ford from a Ford dealership and a fault hasn’t been put right, we can take a look. We read your paperwork and tell you honestly whether there may be a claim worth making, and if there is, we take it up with the dealership and Ford on your behalf. For handing a car back more generally, see returning a car to a dealer after purchase. See what you may be owed and how the free review works.
Not sure where you stand? Send us the paperwork and we’ll take a look.
